My favourite Cointreau drink is equal measures Bourbon. Cointreau & red Martini. In a long tumbler with arctic quantities of ice. And 2-3 slices of fresh orange.
Can be drunk winter and summer – incidentally so can I.— michael dermody (@mrupertdermody) January 20, 2023
That was actually me typing on laptop keyboard, so I can't blame predictive text.

I didn't mean "bitters", I meant "liqueurs".

Yes, Grand Marnier has a cognac base which makes it different to the triple sec style orange bitters.
Triple secs, Cointreau and the Curacaos are fairly interchangeable, but Grand Marnier is different. It will work in some cocktails, but not others due to the flavour difference.

I prefer Grand Marnier for taste, but WAY different! – more ‘rounded’. Expect it’s the brandy.

Yes, Cointreau would give a somewhat similar taste without the colour.

Now THAT ONE I’ll try tomorrow.👍
The only downside is Curacao makes your tongue frightfully blue ( Doesn’t worry a Chow-Chow owner like me -used to it)
You could swap for Cointreau, I guess.— michael dermody (@mrupertdermody) January 20, 2023
